Botox and Fillers

Botox

Botox has been used therapeutically for almost 2 decades. It is a purified protein administered in a simple non-surgical procedure that temporarily improves the appearance of moderate to severe facial lines.

Very small doses of Botox are infected directly into the muscles that cause the wrinkle. The Botox is introduced into the muscles that cause the lines. The procedure takes about 10 minutes and there is no down time afterward. Discomfort is minimal and brief.

Possible side effects include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness and/or bleeding or bruising.

You can expect to see results within a week.

Botox most commonly is used to reduce the frown lines between the brows. It can also be used to reduce the fine lines around the mouth and on the neck. It can also smooth out the horizontal wrinkles on the forehead.

Hyaluronic Acid

As we age, Hyaluronic Acid (HA), the material supporting the layers of the skin begins to decrease. The way your skin looks is directly related to how the skin is supported. Dermal Fillers replace lost volume and restore youthful contours to the skin to smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles.

By injecting HA under the skins surface, we can temporarily correct wrinkles.
The results are immediate and last between 4 and 12 months depending on the product used. The procedure is simple and can be performed during your lunch hour.

HA can be used to fill in the smile lines (Nasolabial Folds), the frown lines between the eyes and the marionette lines that turn down the corners of the mouth. They can also be used to decrease or eliminate the fine "smokers lines" around the lips. We can also use fillers to augment the lips. HA can be used either alone or in combination with Botox.
There are many different types of fillers. Their use is determined by their thickness and partical size. Dr. DiPasquale is trained to help you decide which product is right for you based on an evaluation of your facial wrinkles and folds.
